According to information from the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, on August 21, Viet Yen ward held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park phase 8.
Accordingly, the project, invested by Hanoi - Bac Giang Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 198/QD-TTg dated January 21, 1, with a total area of about 2025 hectares.
In phase 1, the project will be implemented on an area of 50 hectares, with a total investment of more than VND 2.800 billion.
Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park is oriented to develop into a multi-industry industrial park with synchronous and modern infrastructure, meeting the needs of secondary investors, while contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Bac Ninh province.
Previously, in June 6, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the entire area of 2025 hectares of land in phase 50 to implement the project, and added an additional 1 hectares, bringing the total area of phase 89,8 to 1 hectares.

The project's operating period is 50 years from the date of decision on land allocation, land lease, and land use purpose change. It is expected that the industrial park will complete infrastructure and attract secondary investors from August 8.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Chairman of Bac Ninh province said that the locality is one of the bright spots in industrial development and investment attraction in the country. The province currently has 33 industrial parks that have been approved for investment policies and approved for investors to build and operate industrial park infrastructure, with a total area of about 10.000 hectares.
Notably, industrial production activities continue to be the main growth driver, helping Bac Ninh maintain its position in the top group of the country in terms of industrial scale, making an important contribution to national export turnover.
On July 1, 7, Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces officially merged into a new province called Bac Ninh, with the administrative center in Bac Giang city.
After the merger, the new Bac Ninh province has an area of over 4.700 square kilometers, 2 times larger than the current area, with a population of about 6 million people. GRDP is estimated at nearly 3,4 billion VND, ranking after Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Dong Nai.
In particular, the total FDI capital in the province has just reached over 7 billion USD, accounting for about 1/5 of the total FDI capital in the country. Bac Ninh will also become the locality with the largest number of industrial parks in the Northern region, with a total of more than 30 parks.
