The former Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong, continues to expand its industrial map with the super project Hoang Dieu Industrial Park with a scale of 259,78 hectares in Gia Loc, with a total capital of nearly 3.400 billion VND.
June 30, 6 marks an important milestone in the history of economic development in the North when Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province officially merge into the new Hai Phong city. This decision is implemented according to Resolution No. 2025 dated June 202, 12 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units in 6, creating a megacity with an area of 2025 km² and a population of more than 2025 million people.
Hoang Dieu Industrial Park: New Investment Focus
Scale and Strategic Location
Hoang Dieu Industrial Park has emerged as a key project with a total investment of nearly 3.400 billion VND. The project is invested by Hoang Dieu Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company, implemented on an area of about 259,78 hectares in the communes of Hoang Dieu, Gia Phuc, Hong Hung and Gia Loc town.
Hoang Dieu Industrial Park has a prime geographical location next to the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway and near National Highway 38B, only about 9km west of Hai Duong city. The north borders the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, the west borders National Highway 37, creating a convenient traffic connection advantage.
Development Orientation
Hoang Dieu Industrial Park is planned as a multi-industry industrial park with modern technical and social infrastructure system. The industrial park will attract high value-added industries such as:
- Electronics - information technology and telecommunications
- Automobile manufacturing and assembly
- Processing, manufacturing and electrical equipment
- Smart machinery and equipment manufacturing
- Household appliance manufacturing
In particular, the Industrial Park is designed with a system of convenient public social works including accommodation, commercial services, culture, sports, healthcare, and green parks to serve workers and laborers.
Binh Giang Industrial Park: Project of Kinh Bac Group
Project Information
Along with Hoang Dieu Industrial Park, Binh Giang Industrial Park of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) was also approved for investment with a scale of 147,9 hectares and a total investment capital of VND 1.755 billion. The project is located in Thai Minh, Nhan Quyen, Thai Hoa, and Binh Xuyen communes of Binh Giang district.
Binh Giang Industrial Park is located in the South of Binh Giang district, with the North adjacent to the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, conveniently connecting with major cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong and airports and seaports.
High-Tech Orientation
Binh Giang Industrial Park is oriented to become a high-tech, environmentally friendly industrial park, focusing on attracting:
- High-tech and automation industry
- Electronics and telecommunications and assembly
- Clean industries
- Supporting industries with high added value
The project is expected to create 10.000 jobs for local workers and become an important industrial satellite of the expanded Hai Phong.
Impact of the Hai Phong - Hai Duong merger
New Economic Scale
After the merger, the new Hai Phong city will have a combined GRDP of about 658.000 billion VND, ranking 3rd in the country. In 2024, Hai Phong will have an estimated GRDP of 445.995 billion VND, ranking 5th in the country; Hai Duong will rank 11th with GRDP of more than 212.000 billion VND.
Expanded Industrial Park System
Currently, Hai Phong has 18 industrial parks with a total area of about 7.100 hectares, of which 11 are already in operation. Hai Duong has 18 industrial park infrastructure investment projects with a total area of about 2.973 hectares.
After the merger, the new city will have a total of 36 industrial park projects with an area of nearly 10.000 hectares, creating abundant industrial land to attract large-scale investment.
Strong FDI Attraction
Hai Phong currently has over 1.250 FDI projects with a total registered capital of over 33,14 billion USD from 42 countries and territories. Hai Duong has 605 FDI projects from 27 countries with a total registered capital of over 11,2 billion USD.
The merger between Hai Phong and Hai Duong created a megacities with strong economic potential, with a synchronous and modern industrial park system. Hoang Dieu Industrial Park and Binh Giang Industrial Park are two typical projects demonstrating high-tech investment attraction strategy of the new city.
With Industrial land fund of nearly 10.000 hectares, more than 1.850 FDI projects , and total investment capital of more than 44 billion USD, Hai Phong is now asserting its position as industrial - service - logistics center leading in the North, ready to welcome the new wave of investment and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the region and the whole country.
