According to the Singapore Prime Minister, Singapore will increase the total number of VSIP industrial parks in Vietnam to 30 this year.
During a phone call with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on April 16, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung shared that Vietnam is about to implement new policies to attract more foreign investment, including from Singapore.
He suggested that Singapore support Vietnam in building international financial centers and expanding and upgrading the network of new-generation Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) linked to high-tech transfer.

On the Singaporean side, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong affirmed the continued strengthening of economic cooperation, particularly in upgrading the VSIP industrial park network.
He stated that Singapore will increase the total number of VSIP industrial parks in Vietnam to 30 this year, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the project's presence in Vietnam. Singapore pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in training and developing human resources, especially strategic-level personnel.
During the phone call, the Singaporean Prime Minister expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries would continue to develop, creating breakthroughs in new areas such as carbon credit trading and cooperation in ensuring food security.
The two Prime Ministers agreed on the possibility of signing an intergovernmental agreement on cross-border trading of low-carbon electricity to ensure the successful implementation of the wind power export project from Vietnam to Singapore.
VSIP (Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company) has been present since 1996 as part of a cooperation between the two countries. Currently, VSIP has over 22 industrial parks in 15 provinces and cities. VSIP is aiming to attract green, high-tech FDI. The current strategic focus is on developing smart and sustainable industrial parks.
