On the afternoon of December 10, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation received and worked with Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa - Founder of Pacific Construction Group and Su Shang Construction Group (China).
These are businesses belonging to the 500 largest enterprises in the world and other businesses visiting and exploring cooperation and investment opportunities in Hai Phong city.
Also attending the meeting were comrades: Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Le Trung Kien, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board and representatives of relevant departments, agencies and branches.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau welcomed the delegation to visit and explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Hai Phong City. He informed about the city's potential and advantages in terms of geographical location and trade as well as the socio-economic development results achieved in recent times.
He emphasized that Hai Phong is a locality with a favorable and dynamic investment environment, a reliable address for domestic and foreign investors, including enterprises from China. In 2024 alone, the city will attract 4,7 billion USD in foreign direct investment. Currently, the city has 14 active industrial parks.
The City Party Secretary said that recently, in December 12, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2024/QD-TTg on the establishment of the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong, Hai Phong City. This will become a new growth driver for the city in the coming period. According to the Decision, in the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong, there are projects: Nam Do Son port - the largest in Vietnam; Tien Lang international airport and a new generation free trade zone.
With the above motivation, the Central Government expects and the city sets a growth target of 14-15%/year for the next period. To realize the above goal, the city needs large investment resources to complete the technical infrastructure system, especially the transportation system, including key projects, considered as new growth drivers of the city such as: Nam Do Son port; Tien Lang international airport; Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway; coastal highway; Ring Road 3...
Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa - Founder of Thai Binh Duong Construction Group and To Thuong Construction Group highly appreciated the advantages and development potential of Hai Phong city in terms of geographical location, traffic infrastructure and expressed his belief in the breakthrough and outstanding development of the city in the coming time. At the same time, he suggested some ideas on investment, planning, and development of the city's traffic infrastructure in the future. Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa expressed that he would actively research and participate in the fields and projects introduced by the leaders of Hai Phong city. The enterprise committed to implementing projects to ensure the fastest progress, quality and reasonable prices; at the same time, he made some recommendations and proposals related to the implementation of cooperation and investment.
Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau thanked Mr. Nghiem Gioi Hoa and business leaders for their good feelings and impressions of the city and suggestions for Hai Phong's development orientation. At the same time, he emphasized that he would direct departments, branches, and localities to review and synthesize, thereby proposing specific areas of cooperation, in which priority will be given to areas such as: smart cities, technical infrastructure, traffic infrastructure, waste treatment, etc.
