On the afternoon of April 11, Business Forum Magazine in collaboration with the Institute of Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) - University of Economics (Hanoi National University) organized the Forum: "Rooftop solar power in industrial parks: Needs and solutions for businesses".
According to information at the Forum, Power Planning VIII was signed and approved by the Prime Minister on May 15, 5, clearly orienting the policy of developing power sources, transmission grids, industry and services. Renewable energy services for the period 2023 - 2021, vision to 2030.
At the same time, according to Mr. Hoang Quang Phong - Vice President of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI): Power Plan VIII also mentions rooftop solar power sources, in which, the power source structure until 2030 Strive to have 50% of office buildings and 50% of residential houses use self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power.

Rooftop solar power is a clean, renewable energy source and does not cause greenhouse gas emissions or environmental pollution. Using rooftop solar power helps reduce the amount of coal and oil and gas needed to generate traditional electricity, thereby reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released into the air. This is a practical action to implement Vietnam's commitment to reduce net emissions under the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Rooftop solar power is an independent energy source, helping to increase initiative and reduce dependence on traditional power sources. Going forward, it will also enhance the competitive position of businesses, especially when it comes to complying with environmental and carbon regulations. Businesses want the Government to encourage this model and improve legislation to attract investment and promote the use of renewable energy.
In addition, in order to remove obstacles in investment and installation, businesses propose that relevant ministries and branches soon develop and promulgate a set of technical standards applicable to the components that make up the solar power system. The roof includes; (panels, inverter, battery, zero export anti-backlash...); Technical criteria for acceptance of generation sources according to procedures, helping to facilitate the process of inspection and acceptance of putting the rooftop solar power system into stable operation. At the same time, provinces and cities also need to allocate departments to strictly control the output of rooftop solar power installations in local industrial parks and export processing zones.
